Here is a window into the world of possibility. We could learn to make it together. What people perceive as being lucky is really just magic….a collective magic.
I am a storyteller, a time-traveler, a cataloger and a lover of all that is us. I reward my constant urge to be at home everywhere, and spend my days collecting, arranging and investigating the relationship between new and old. This can sometimes leave me with the feeling I am inviting someone in, but at the same time searching for a home. My childhood obsession which allowed me to reinvent tales in my head, creating situations that were partially true and partially invented, remains in tact...and this makes me a very happy girl.
The little doors and signs help me to patch together our own history, creating a gentle dialogue living simultaneously in the past and present. I wonder about the ever-changing meaning of community and home, and tend to find the answers in free boxes and the stuff left on the side of the street.
I believe our trash combined with our hopes will replace the history books.

Bunnie (Bonnie) Reiss grew up with the wide blue sky of Colorado and a Siamese cat named Sammy. Most of her days were filled with the creation of elaborate tall tales and failing at playing the saxophone.
After relocating to San Francisco 7 years ago, she spends her days scavenging for discarded materials to paint and quilt together gentle dialogues in a sunny studio in West Oakland. She drinks lots of tea, cultivates magic and watches the stars rise again and again. You are always welcome to come by and travel through time with her.
